Guidelines for Live Broadcast
A. One time settings for Windows Media Encoder
- Connect the microphone to the computer.
- Switch on the computer and test the microphone connection:
- For windows XP click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment ->
Sound Record.
- For windows Vista click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories
->
Sound Recorder.
- Connect to internet.
- Ask from the radio team to email you the Windows Media Encoder file
entitled as TLIG Radio
(live), which is shown below

- Copy and paste it on your desktop. Then double click on the icon to
launch Windows Media Encoder.
- Type the User name and the Password (sent to you by the radio
team), check the box "Remember password", and click OK.
- Wait about 20 seconds, open the "File" menu and click "Save".
- Click "Start Encoding".

- Open the Recording Control by clicking the "Mixer..." button in
the Audio panel to adjust a) the microphone level or b) the Line-In
level if you are playing a recorded reading or music from an
external Cassette/CD player.
IMPORTANT: Broadcasting at too high level (mostly in the red) or too low
level (mostly in the green) will give you unsatisfactory
results.
- Close the Windows Media Encoder.
B. Administration Panel
After having completed the above procedure for Windos Media Encoder
there are couple of more steps that one must take EVERY TIME before
broadcasting live.
- Double click the icon TLIG Radio (live) on your desktop
to open Windows Media Encoder
- Click OK to the password.
- Wait about 20 seconds and then click the button "Start
Encoding".
- Open the Internet Explorer and go to
http://212.72.165.21:8000/tligradio_all/admin/
- Type the User name and the Password, sent to you by the radio
team. Check the box "Remember password" and click OK.
- In the Source Information section click Switch to source
of dj1 (Push).

That's all! You can now start broadcasting! :)
- To stop broadcasting, in the Source Information section click
Switch to source of Source backup.

- Click Stop in Windows Media Encoder, close any window with Encoding results,
and then close the Windows Media Encoder by clicking File and then
Exit.
C. In conclusion, every time you want to broadcast
you must
- switch on your pc,
- connect to the internet,
- open Windows Media Encoder by double clicking the
icon " TLIG radio
(live)" on your
desktop,
- click OK to the password,
- wait about 20 seconds and then click "Start Encoding",
- open the Internet Explorer and go to
http://212.72.165.21:8000/tligradio_all/admin/
- click OK to the password,
- in the Source Information section click Switch to source
of dj1 (Push),
............broadcasting time............
- to stop broadcasting, click Switch to source of Source
backup in the Source Information section,
- click Stop in Windows Media Encoder,
- close any window with Encoding results
- final, close the
Windows Media Encoder by clicking File and then Exit.
